Zelve Ruins is 19 km (11.8 mile) far to Nevsehir centurum. It is the area which holds the most fairy chimneys in Cappadocia. Sharp edged and large bodied fairy chimneys give a mysterious air to the region.

“Direkli Church” located at the bottom of cliffs belongs to the first years of the monastery life in Zelve. Embossed crucifixes used for decoration of churches are closely interrelated with iconoclastic thought. In addition to Balıklı, Üzümlü and Geyikli churches which are among the important churches of the valley, there is also a chapel dedicated to St. Simeon in the ruins.

Besides monasteries, churches and settlement areas, you can also see such structures as tunnel and mill in the va lley inhabited until 1952.
