In the excavations done in the years 2007 and 2008 the Emperor Marcus Aurelius and sculptures of the Emperor Hadrian- an estimated length of 5 meters- may be sufficient to bewitch people. These sculptures are presented to the interests of the tourists. In small Asia Sagalassos might be an ancient city which was one of the best preserved ancient settlements to the present day after being abandoned.

The history of the ancient city of Sagalassos in written sources, begins with the conquest of Alexander the Great in 333 BC . After the death of Alexander the Great, the reign of the city remains for a short period of time to his predecessors. In 281 BC the Seleukoses took the control over the city.Between the years 188-133BC Attaloses became a part of the Kingdom of Pergamum. After 129 BC SagaRoman province Galatia. In the AD 5th -7th century successive earthquakes and especially Arab attacks the city started to lose population and in Sagalassos was pushed into the process of being abandoned.
