Private Cappadocia Art and History Museum is 26 km (16 mile) far to Nevsehir centurum. Cappadocia Art and History Museum is in a historical mansion of 150 years located in Mustafapaşa (Sinasos) 5 km from Ürgüp. It is the first special “handmade baby museum” in Turkey. Over 2000 handmade objects are exhibited in the museum.

Handmade baby collection of the museum starts historically with the legends and sagas and extends to the Republic period. In the museum you can see many historical figures such as Yunus Emre, Nasreddin Hodja, Mevlana, Karacaoğlan, Köroğlu, Dede Qorqut, Aşık Veysel, Hacı Bektaşi Veli and Koca Yusuf in a certain composition.

Women of the palace, fire brigade of Istanbul, traditional clothes of tallymen which represent daily life of the Ottoman Period are also must-see. Handmade babies collected from four corners of the world are exhibited with their peculiar clothes and decors.

In the museum which is one of the best protected architectural structures among the historical mansions in the region, you can see the best examples of the cultural heritage of Cappadocia. Not only the exhibited objects but also the mansion itself is worth seeing.

With its windows, floor furnace, inner yard, wood engraved colored gate, cabinets and couches, special stone dressings in the niches, syrup holder, closet and coves, the mansion presents a visual feast both culturally and historically.

This museum which has the status of “Private Museum under Ministry of Culture” is an ideal place to cle arly see historical, cultural and architectural features of Cappadocia.
