Kaymaklı Underground City museum is 20 km (12 mile) far to Nevsehir centurum. It is located in Kaymaklı village, 19 km form Nevsehir and 4 floors of this 8-floor underground city are opened to visit. That is to say, you can visit the underground city with total depth of 40 m until the 4th floor of 20 m depth.

In addition to the animal shelter on the 1st floor, there are small rooms constructed for daily life and a church. On the 2nd floor, there is a church with an adjoining graveyard. 3rd floor of the city is larger and has fresher atmosphere compared to others. On this floor which is used as cellar, there are many partitions to store wine, wheat and flour. Wine making areas and kitchen are also located on this floor. Redundancy and development of the production, exploitation and storage areas on the 4th floor prove that residents of the underground city maintained their daily works on the surface later in the underground as well.

Although not totally uncovered, richness of the found parts indicates that this city was one of the most populated underground cities. It is possible to access this city through a tunnel from every house in the village and some parts are still used as cellar, store and barn by the local people, which looks really interesting.

Open daily between 08:00-17:00.
